Mission
Our mission is to teach people how to build. We show you how to use tools safely and effectively—from 3D printers and soldering irons to CAD software and microcontrollers. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced maker, we help you develop the hands-on skills and confidence to turn your ideas into real, working prototypes.

The Studio
Located in Industry City, Brooklyn, our workshop is equipped with everything you need to prototype your ideas. From 3D printers and vinyl cutters to electronics workbenches and soldering stations.

Programs
Shop Classes
Hands-on workshops where you'll learn new skills and create something to take home. Classes range from 1.5-3 hours and cover topics like CAD, 3D printing, electronics, and design.
Prototyping Sessions
One-on-one sessions tailored to your project. From quick brainstorming to full-day build sprints, we'll help you move from idea to prototype.
Office Hours
Weekly open studio time for makers to work on personal projects with access to all tools and equipment. Free and open to all.

Ari Zade
Founder & Instructor
Ari Zade is a designer and engineer. Ari founded Desk Job Design Lab to make prototyping accessible to everyone. With a background in software engineering, product design, and creative fabrication,Ari combines technical expertise and design intuition with a passion for teaching.
Through workshops, prototyping sessions, and mentorship, Ari helps makers of all skill levels bring their ideas to life—from initial concept to finished product. Whether you're exploring CAD for the first time or building your next prototype, Ari is here to guide you every step of the way.
