A prototyping studio for makers

Desk Job Design Lab is a community prototyping studio in Industry City, Brooklyn. We give makers the tools, space, and guidance to turn an idea into a real, physical object through creative workshops and 1:1 prototyping sessions.

Across electronics, fabrication, and textiles, the shop is set up so you can design, build, test, and iterate all in one place. No prior experience required to start prototyping, just bring your ideas and curiosity!

Founder & Design Engineer

LinkedIn

Ari Zade founded Desk Job Design Lab to make prototyping approachable. It grew out of a simple idea: most people have something they'd love to build, but not the tools, the space, or someone to show them how.

As the studio's instructor, Ari runs prototyping sessions and workshops across electronics, fabrication, and textiles — meeting makers wherever they're starting from and helping them get to a working prototype.
